Condensed Childbirth Education Course

I offer a one-day, condensed childbirth education course taught by myself and Melissa White, CNM.  Join us and get the scoop on pregnancy, labor, and birth from the perspectives of a former labor and delivery nurse turned midwife and a doula. The course topics include anatomy and physiology of labor and birth, nutrition and exercise, choosing your birth team, how to prepare your body for labor, coping techniques for pain, positions for labor and birth, hospital procedures and evidence-based information on interventions, breastfeeding, baby care basics, and more.

This course is taught on a Saturday from 9:00am – 5:30pm. The fee is $250/couple and includes a light breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and course materials.

Private Childbirth Education Course

This course is taught in the privacy and comfort of your home.  Course topics include anatomy and physiology of labor and birth, choosing your birth team, preparing your body for labor, introduction and hands on practice of coping techniques for pain, positions for labor and birth, hospital procedures and evidence-based information on interventions, writing an effective birth plan, introduction to breastfeeding, baby care basics, and planning for the postpartum period. The topics in this course can be tailored to fit your needs.

The fee for this course is $350/couple.

Newborn Care Course

This 3 hour course is taught in the privacy of your home and should be scheduled before your baby is born.  You can choose to make this a private class or host a group class with other expectant families. Course topics include breastfeeding basics, newborn care, and understanding your baby’s cues.

The fee for this course is $150/couple.
